The terms for using GridYear, your GridYear account, and this website.

About these terms
GridYear is desktop calendar software for Windows provided by StandFast Studios (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These terms apply to the GridYear software, your GridYear account, and this website. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them. For questions, open a support ticket from your account or contact info@standfaststudios.com.
Free trial
You can try GridYear free for 10 days without creating an account or entering payment details. The trial includes every feature. Each major version has its own trial, which starts the first time you open that version and cannot be restarted. When the trial ends, a license is required to keep using GridYear.
Your license
A $10.99 USD one-time purchase (plus any sales tax or VAT that applies) gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the purchased major version of GridYear, such as GridYear 1 and all of its 1.x updates, on up to two computers at a time, for as long as you like. The license is for your own use; it does not transfer ownership of the software. There is no recurring subscription. Do not share or resell your license key, distribute unauthorized copies, or bypass license checks. Rights granted under applicable law or third-party open-source licenses are not restricted by this clause.
Activation and license checks
Activating GridYear on a computer requires an internet connection. The app sends your license key, a random identifier for that installation, its version, and its operating system to our license server, which confirms the license. The app checks in again every few days when online. A confirmed license keeps working without a connection for 30 days, after which GridYear asks you to connect so it can check again. To move GridYear to another computer, deactivate the old one in GridYear (Settings → License) or in your account. The Privacy policy explains what is sent and stored.
Major-version upgrades
Future major versions, such as GridYear 2, are not included in your purchase. When one is released, owners of a license for the previous major version can buy an upgrade at half the price of a new license, from their account. The price will be shown before you buy. You do not have to upgrade to keep using the version you already bought, and you can keep downloading it from your account.
Purchases and payment
StandFast Studios is the seller of GridYear licenses. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number. The total price, including any applicable taxes, is shown at checkout before you pay. Your license key is shown after payment and emailed to you, and your invoices are available in your account. Our Refund policy explains how to request a refund. If a purchase is refunded, the license for that purchase ends.
Payment disputes
If you dispute a payment with your bank instead of contacting us, the license for that purchase is paused while the dispute is open. It works again if the dispute is resolved in our favor, and it ends if the payment is reversed. Please contact support first; we would rather fix the problem with you directly.
Gift licenses
We sometimes give GridYear licenses away, for example to friends, testers, or reviewers. A gift license is covered by these terms in the same way as a purchased one, except that no payment or refund applies. Gift licenses may not be sold.
Your account
Your GridYear account is created when you buy or receive a license, using your email address. You sign in with a one-time link emailed to that address, so keep access to your email secure. Your account shows your license keys, the computers using them, your invoices, and your support tickets. We may suspend or close an account, or end a license, that is used to break these terms, for example by sharing or reselling license keys.
Your calendars and connected services
You keep all rights to your calendars and events. GridYear connects directly from your PC to the calendar services you choose, such as Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar and Apple iCloud, and your use of those services stays subject to their own terms. Changes you make in GridYear are sent to those services, including deletions. Calendar services can change or limit access at any time, which may affect GridYear’s features. GridYear is not a backup service; keep your own backups of important information. Do not use GridYear or this website unlawfully, interfere with their operation, or infringe another person’s rights.
Software, updates, and support
Features and compatibility may change between releases. Check the download page and release notes for current system requirements. GridYear updates itself within its major version. We may end support for older versions; we do not promise a particular future feature, release date, or indefinite support. Support is provided through the help desk in your account. Third-party components remain subject to their own licenses.
Privacy
Our Privacy policy describes how GridYear handles your calendars, license checks, your account, purchases, and support.
Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the software and website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without additional warranties. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including missed appointments, and our total liability relating to a paid license is limited to the amount you paid for that license. These limits do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limit mandatory consumer rights, including rights concerning faulty or misdescribed software.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will show the revision date on this page. Changes do not retroactively remove rights from a completed purchase. Material changes affecting an existing license will be communicated where required by law. Contact StandFast Studios through the help desk in your account or at info@standfaststudios.com.
